FWAHU Participates in Heart Walk

ahaheartwalkIn September, FWAHU held a friendly competition with DAHU on the American Heart Association2008 Heart Walk. Coming down to the last minute in a close race, DAHU barely edged us on total contributions but our brave participants weathered the rain and wind from Hurricane Ike to raise approximately $1400 combined for the American Heart Association! Special thanks goes out to Stacy Cochran for her hard work on fielding a team and generating sponsor commitments for the fundraiser.

Great job, Stacy!

What Stacy had to say:

On Saturday, September 13th weather from Hurricane Ike slowly rolled into North Texas. The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk took place as scheduled along the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth in slightly damp conditions.

FWAHU had been challenged by DAHU to see who could raise the most money for this worthy cause. FWAHU raised $550 and DAHU raised $825 for a grand total of $1375!

Many thanks to all who donated and a special thanks to Rise and Alex Kieren for walking with me in the drizzle!
