Thursday, August 12, 2021 – Monthly Membership Luncheon and 1 Hr CE
Please join us IN PERSON at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, 1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie TX 75050, (see attached parking map for more details on where to park and enter building) for our August monthly membership meeting and a 1 hour CE presented by Alicia Haff, JD, partner at ETC Companies. Following our monthly membership meeting and lunch, Alicia will present the 1 hour CE, “Brokers & Human Resources, Does it Mix?” (Course# 126083, Provider# 32408).

Alicia has oversight of ACA compliance interpretations and manages the ETC Web-Based system to ensure ACA compliance and that the evolutions of ACA rules/regulations are implemented within ETC. Alicia is responsible for the ETC System’s calculations, interpretations and recommendations. Alicia graduated from the University of Texas School of Law (Austin) in 1996 and spent thirteen (13) years litigating employer, insurance and commercial disputes. Alicia has continued her practice since 2010 in defending employers in Governmental audits including Wage and Overtime, Health & Welfare Benefits, I-9s and OSHA. In 2010, Alicia left her litigation practice to focus her efforts on general employer compliance, including healthcare reform compliance. Alicia has maintained her Texas General Lines Insurance license since 2007, has achieved her Certified Health Care Specialist designation and is certified as a Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Professional. As part of her consulting practice, Alicia is retained on a regular basis by clients to advise on the intricacies of the Affordable Care Act and by clients who need to come into compliance with the law and surrounding regulations.
Course Objectives: Educate attendees as to the most common questions being asked of an insurance agent in today’s highly complex insurance market and deliver the appropriate answers that protect agency from E&O claim.
Areas of discussion will include Medicare, COVID-19 Relief Legislation+, Affordable Care Act compliance update, Cafeteria Plans, COBRA, ERISA – deadlines for disclosures and upcoming Transparency Requirements, FMLA hot topics, MLRA Rebates, and PCORI Fee updates. In short, the presentation includes a little on a lot of topics and how brokers should or should not answer these HR issues today.

Meeting cancellations received in writing 72 hours prior to webinar, will receive a full refund. No refunds for cancellations will be made after this time. All registered members/guest who are no-shows will be invoiced a $35 no show charge.
Thursday, September 9, 2021 – Annual Sales Symposium @ Lone Star Park
Please join FWAHU for our 2021 Sales Symposium on September 9, 2021 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie for a full day of CE covering everything from Group, Medicare, Individual, and ancillary product sales!
Registration will begin at 8:15am and first CE will start at 8:45am.
Morning Sessions (8:45am – 12pm):
The morning session will include breakfast along with 3 hours of CE!
During lunch, Mike and Shannon Meroney, the current TAHU Lobbyists, will present a 1 hour CE to update us on legislative matters in Austin! We will also hear from our Triple Crown Sponsor and have time to visit with each exhibitor!
Afternoon Session (1:45pm – 4:15pm):
After lunch, we will come back with 2 more hours of CE!
After the afternoon CEs we will recognize our exhibitors and hold the prize drawings so make sure to stick around all day!

**Special Non-Member Offer**
Non-members who enroll for a FWAHU membership on the day of the event will be eligible to have their next membership luncheon fee waived. Their membership application and membership payment needs to be returned to the event registration desk on the day of the event. Note – these individuals must pay for both the attendance fee and their membership on the day of the event.
